There is a lot of emphasis placed on the women’s body when discussing pregnancy fitness/nutrition. I wanted to share what I have learnt since being pregnant which I’ll carry with me forever.
Pictures/Videos tell a partial story.
I post my workouts on my stories not to show off but every time I train, I am amazed by what my body can do and continue to do: growing a life, gaining strength, hips widening, staying fit etc. Training has never been a chore for me. It’s me time. It’s my Zen time. It’s my therapy. It’s where I connect with my mind, body and now baby.
FOCUS ON WHAT YOU CAN DO
It is easy to get caught up with what the body looks like as it changes every day. Some days I feel like I ‘have let go’ because my hips are wider, my muscles feel a little softer and my bump is a little bigger even when I am eating clean or working out every day. So I’ve adopted the mindset of *How many push-ups can I do today. How much weight can I thrust today? How many exercises can I get through today, etc. That’s empowering sh*t.
MY BODY IS HOME NOW
Pregnancy is a beautiful growing journey. There are times I must remind myself to come back to my center. That my body is no longer just mine. But a home to a growing little human. who can feel everything I am feeling. It’s easy to let the mind wander and forget that my body is constantly working during this time. But It is my baby’s first home.
Above all else… always give space for yourself, and love your body at every phase and stage.
Knowing what I can control is what I allow myself to feel and experience.
